PRONOVA™ Blue Monofilament Surgical Suture, Size 4-0, is a nonabsorbable, synthetic suture composed of a copolymer of poly(hexafluoropropylene–vinylidene fluoride) (poly(HFP–VDF)). This suture material offers excellent resistance to degradation, ensuring long-term wound support without loss of tensile strength over time. It is inert and non-reactive, making it suitable for use in various soft tissue approximation procedures where extended wound support is desired.

The suture is dyed blue to enhance visibility during surgical handling and tissue approximation. Its monofilament construction minimizes tissue drag and reduces the risk of harboring bacteria within suture interstices. This smooth profile supports easy passage through tissue, lowering trauma and facilitating precise closure.

This configuration includes a double-armed setup with two SH (26 mm, 1/2 circle taper point) stainless steel needles. These needles are designed for soft tissue penetration with minimal cutting, making them appropriate for delicate and precise closures. The SH needle's curvature allows controlled movement in confined spaces, improving accuracy during suturing.
